Smart Networking Technology for AMI and AMR
EkaNet™ solutions leverage wireless mesh network technology and optimize it for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) applications. With proven scalability to thousands of meters per gateway, EkaNet™ Smart Networks seamlessly integrate electric, water, and gas meters. EkaNet™ remains the only network capable of integrating all three utilities into one data stream.
- EkaNet™ Electric Nodes are embedded in electric meters to form a dynamically self-organizing, self-managing, self healing mesh network. These Nodes also provide an access interface for communications with Home Area Network (HAN) devices. The EkaNet™ network platform supports a flexible interface to different HAN technologies through deployable EkaNet™ Electric Nodes.
- EkaNet™ Water and Gas Nodes are externally interfaced to water and gas meters. These Nodes then network to nearby electrical Nodes for integration into the overall EkaNet™ Smart Network.
- EkaNet™ Wireless Gateways aggregate data from intelligent meter Nodes and forward it to back-office Meter Data Management Systems for data aggregation, analysis, and interface to billing and other utility service application functions.
- EkaNet™ Wireless Network Field Tools make it easy to install, configure, and maintain an EkaNet™ Smart Network and its individual elements.
- EkaNet™ Mobile Collection Systems increase operational efficiencies for utilities relying on Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems by enabling mobile, drive-by meter reading and eliminating intrusive and costly meter reading visits.
